Position: RN Registered Nurse Maternal Newborn Full time nights

Registered Nurse (RN) Maternal/Newborn – Full-time

Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours:

Full-time, 36 hours/week, 6:45PM-7:15AM with holiday and weekend requirements.

Maternal/Newborn Department Highlights
  • Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
  • Mother friendly designated, Texas 10-Step designated, Level III Maternal designated, Team Birth facility, and Magnet designated facility
  • Our team is like a family with a newly renovated Mother/Baby, couplet care unit with 26-beds
  • Average between 275-285 deliveries per month in a fast-paced couplet care unit
  • Part of the CHAMPS national initiative for breastfeeding education.
Here’s What You Need
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma
  • BSN is preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required
  • One year or more of Maternal/Newborn, Mother/Baby, Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
