Registered Nurse, Level III NICU

Location:

Fort Worth, near downtown.

Shift

Full Time Nights – 7pm‑7am

Patient Population

Micro preemies to full‑term infants (22 weeks to term gestation)

Patient Ratios & Beds
  • Patient ratios: 1:1‑3
  • Number of beds: 63
Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans adjusted to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Create care plans reflecting values and aid in resolving issues.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Use strategies for problem solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers' development and community service commitment.
Key Success Factors
  • Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in the area.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects.
  • Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, clear expression of thoughts verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem‑solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills:
    Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, email.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited program.
  • Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience.
  • RN license.
  • BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of starting.
