28 bed Telemetry Department provides telemetry and Med/Surg level of care for the general medical/surgical, endocrine GI/renal patient population ages Adult to Geriatric
4/5:1 patient to nurse ratio on days and 5/6:1 on nights working 12-hour shifts

Level III Trauma Center

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS - within 90 days of hire required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
1-year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
2-years' experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
Current Tele experience strongly preferred
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
The Charge Nurse
will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
support and actively participate in shared governance/councils
committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
