Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for our Post-Surgical Unit. Night Shift.

About the Facility- Location
: 1800 Park Place Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas - Bed and Unit Structure
: 30-bed acute care surgical hospital with Emergency Department, a 30-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed ICU, and diagnostic imaging facilities - Technology
: 14 state-of-the-art operating rooms with da Vinci, ExcelsiusGPS, and Mako Surgical Systems - Specializations
: ENT, Bariatric, Pulmonary, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Spine and Craniotomy, among others
- The PSU Nurse provides nursing care for post-surgical patients in accordance with accepted standards of care.
- Respond to patients presenting to the Emergency Department and conduct the Medical Screening Exam as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.
- Performs direct patient care within the scope of RN practice and hospital policies.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patient needs and physician orders.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations; address patient/family education and learning needs.
- Manage acute and chronic pain, particularly for post-procedure or surgical patients, to alleviate suffering and support healing.
- Administer medications with ongoing assessment of patient response and safety.
- Follow documentation policies and complete required records per procedures.
- Perform medical screening as needed and ensure proper follow-up in line with policies.
- Education
:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred - Licensure/Certification
:
Current Texas RN License; current BLS; ACLS within 6 months of hire - Experience
:
Minimum two (2) years as an RN in a hospital Medical/Surgical or ICU unit - Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
:
Ability to assess psychosocial, educational, and physical needs across pediatric to geriatric populations; excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational skills; nursing judgment and prioritization; experience with Electronic Health Records
