Schedule / Job TypeContract – Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) Monday, Thursday, Friday or 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities- Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-volume hospital-based operating room with a strong focus on neurosurgery cases including craniotomies and spine procedures
- Support a surgical caseload that includes general surgery, orthopedics, robotics, urology, plastics, cardiac, and transplant procedures
- Function in a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio within a 17-bed OR suite that includes CVOR and transplant capabilities
- Collaborate with 1–2 surgical technicians per case and utilize advanced equipment including da Vinci XI, Globus, Mako robots, and microscopes
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Adhere to facility dress code, attendance, and floating policies as required
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in an acute care hospital setting (surgery center experience does not qualify)
- Demonstrated neurosurgery experience (strong neuro experience is required)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Must demonstrate a friendly and compassionate approach to patient care
- Robotic surgical experience (da Vinci XI, Globus, or Mako systems)
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with spine procedures (caseload is approximately 85% spine, 15% brain)
- Work in a high-acuity, full-service OR environment performing a diverse and advanced surgical caseload including neurosurgery, cardiac, and transplant procedures
- Scrubs provided by the facility, offering a seamless transition into the unit for travel clinicians
