Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal ICU/NICU
Part‑time
Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
Schedule: Part‑Time Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) for 24 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements. On‑Call: 12 hours in a 6‑week schedule.
Unit Highlights- Self‑scheduling helps balance work and life and supports educational and career growth.
- Regional referral center for high‑risk deliveries with advanced services for complex infants – over 600 NICU admissions per year.
- 63‑bed Level III Neonatal ICU/NICU equipped with Bubble CPAP, Conventional Ventilator, Oscillators, and JETs (high‑frequency).
- Staffed 24 hours a day by neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and experienced registered nurses dedicated to caring for infants born with special health needs.
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing program OR RN nursing diploma.
- BSN preferred.
- CLIA certification and compliance with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required).
- One (1) year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
- One year of Neonatal ICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred.
- Prefer 18 months or more NICU RN experience in an acute care setting.
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (required).
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required.
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required.
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually (90 days required).
Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Assesses the patient.
- Plans the care of the patient.
- Intervenes as appropriate.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
- Incorporates age‑specific safety and infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information.
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and during out‑of‑hospital transfers.
