Registered Nurse – NICU

Our NICU is a fast‑paced environment that includes high‑acuity patients. The leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.

Patient Population: Micro preemies to Full Term Infants (22 weeks to term gestation)

Patient Ratios: 1:1-3

Number of Beds: 63 beds

Department Specifics: Neonatologist and NNP in‑house 24/7, Multidisciplinary Team Approach, Multidisciplinary Respiratory Modalities, Daily Multidisciplinary Patient Care Rounds, Electronic Self‑Scheduling, No Float to Adult Care, Active Unit Based Council, NICU Parent Advocacy Group

Shift: FT Nights; 7pm-7am

Experience: 2 years of recent Level 3 NICU experience

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans; adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
• Build therapeutic relationships, manage discomfort, stay professional, and engage patients and families.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; assess and document learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create a care plan, delegate tasks, and follow up promptly.
• Apply problem‑solving strategies; recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peer development and community service.

• Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, guidelines, and hospital procedures.
• Proficiency in medical terms, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with diverse parties.
• Excellent problem‑solving capabilities and critical thinking.
• Basic computer skills:
  Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, payroll systems, EMR, and email.

• Graduate of an accredited program.
• 2 years of Level III NICU experience required.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting.
