Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Med Surg, Full-Time Nights

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Med Surg

Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours:

Full-Time Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Requirements
  • Other graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
  • 6 months in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program
  • LVN
    - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire
  • BCLS
    - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS
    - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required
  • CPI
    - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required
  • NIHSS
    - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification maintained every 2 years 90 days required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
Job Duties
  • Collaborates with healthcare team to support hourly rounding, patient education, and risk reduction.
  • Administers medications safely and performs technical procedures proficiently.
  • Collects and reports patient data to RN, contributing to individualized care planning.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and adheres to national safety standards.
  • Maintains professional accountability through goal setting, advocacy, and policy compliance.
  • Partners with peers and support staff to enhance clinical competence and adapt to changing needs.
  • Engages in continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and applying evidence-based practices.
