Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Med Surg

Work location:
Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours:
Full-Time Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements
- Other graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
- 6 months in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program
- LVN
- Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire - BCLS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly - ACLS
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required - CPI
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required - NIHSS
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification maintained every 2 years 90 days required - A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborates with healthcare team to support hourly rounding, patient education, and risk reduction.
- Administers medications safely and performs technical procedures proficiently.
- Collects and reports patient data to RN, contributing to individualized care planning.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and adheres to national safety standards.
- Maintains professional accountability through goal setting, advocacy, and policy compliance.
- Partners with peers and support staff to enhance clinical competence and adapt to changing needs.
- Engages in continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and applying evidence-based practices.
