You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Aboutthe role
You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and the Center Physician, you will follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provide center‑level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews, acceptance requirements, physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, including standing orders and transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

- Up to 80 hours of sick time annually; new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
$33.44 – $45.98 per hour. The actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location, and will adhere to local minimum wage requirements.
