Progressive Care Unit Nurse
Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), focusing on individuals requiring intermediate monitoring and treatment. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes on a 7P-7A shift.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition regularly.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the EMR system.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies, utilizing neuro and PCU competency skills.
- Coordinate patient care activities and communicate effectively with team members and families.
- Adhere to unit policies, safety procedures, and certification requirements, including ACLS and BLS.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with active state credentials.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit.
- Strong neuro competency and proficiency with Meditech EMR.
- Able to demonstrate PCU skill competency and emergency response skills.
- Certified in BLS and ACLS.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities.
