Lactation Consultant RN PRN

Job Summary

Medical City Alliance, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a Lactation Consultant RN (PRN) to provide expert lactation support across Labor and Delivery, Newborn and NICU units, Pediatric and OB practices, and outpatient services. The role includes clinical assessment, developing evidence‑based feeding plans, teaching prenatal lactation classes, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

• Conduct clinical assessments of breastfeeding mothers and infants.
• Develop individualized, evidence‑based feeding plans for newborns through NICU or normal intervals.
• Collaborate with Labor and Delivery, Newborn and NICU, Pediatricians, OBs, and Family Practice teams to implement feeding strategies.
• Deliver prenatal lactation education and support in collaboration with the Lead Lactation Consultant.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

• Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred. BSN must be obtained within 3 years of employment.
• Professional nursing organization membership encouraged.

• Minimum of one year experience in lactation preferred.

• Registered Nurse license in Texas required.
• Current BLS issued from an approved vendor required.
• IBCLC certification required.
• NRP issued from an approved vendor required.
