Work hours:

Full-time, 6:45AM-7:15PM, (3) 12-hour shifts/week, schedule varies including some weekend and holiday coverage

Maternal/Newborn Department Highlights
  • Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth
  • Mother friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility
  • Our team is like a family with a newly renovated Mother/Baby, couplet care unit with 26-beds
  • Average between 285-300 deliveries per month
Here's What You Need
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
  • BSN – Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting Required
  • 2-years' experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  • 2-years current Mother/Baby RN experience strongly preferred
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • NRP
    - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days Required
  • CPI
    - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
  • demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
  • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
  • have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
What You Will Do
  • The Charge Nurse will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
  • support and actively participate in shared governance/councils
  • committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
  • evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
