Job Summary:
The PACU Registered Nurse will provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort. This role requires flexibility to work varied shifts and weekends on a 13-week travel assignment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' vital signs and overall condition upon arrival and throughout recovery.
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions or complications post-surgery.
- Administer medications and provide advanced nursing interventions as needed.
- Communicate effectively with surgical teams and family members regarding patient status.
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system.
- Adhere to unit policies, ASPAN guidelines, and dress code standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with minimum 1 year of PACU or ICU experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in general, neuro, oncology, orthopedics, and vascular surgical procedures.
- Capable of managing patient ratios of 1:2 efficiently.
- Able to work flexible shifts, including nighttime, weekends, and on-call.
- Enjoy a collaborative, easy-going personality and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to state-of-the-art equipment and fast-paced environment.
