REGISTERED NURSE – BEHAVIORAL HEALTH Fort Worth, Texas | Contract | $42/Hour

We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and organized Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health team. This position provides nursing care to an adult and geropsych patient population in a 48-bed behavioral health unit. The ideal candidate has behavioral health nursing experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in a fast-paced environment.

• Provide safe, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to behavioral health patients.
• Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and communicate concerns appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.
• Monitor and document patient behaviors, symptoms, responses to treatment, and progress.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral and psychiatric emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Provide patient and family education as appropriate.
• Float to other Behavioral Health units as needed.

Adults and geriatric patients.

Common diagnoses and treatments include psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required to practice in Texas.
• BLS certification required.
• Handle with Care certification required; training is available onsite.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred/required.
• Behavioral Health or psychiatric nursing experience required.
• Some medical/surgical or general medical RN experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional approach when caring for patients with behavioral health needs.
