Position Summary

Level II NDT Technician will provide inspection services in one or more of the following Non-Destructive testing methods:
Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Dye Penetrant (PT), Eddy Current (ET), or Visual (VT), with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to follow processes and procedures established by Management and NDT Level 3 personnel.

Prefer a candidate that has some CMM operating experience.

Essential Functions
  • Set-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on NDT equipment by following established instructions and record results. Conduct tests with minimal or no supervision following approved NDT technique(s).
  • Interpret, evaluate, and document findings.
  • Prepare and provide detailed inspection reports.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified.
  • Provide On-the-Job Training to Level 1 NDT Inspectors, trainees and fellow Level 2 NDT Inspectors.
  • Must be familiar with codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
  • Assist NDT Level 3’s in developing specific NDT techniques, processes, and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Obtain and analyze information skillfully.
  • Edit and present numerical data effectively; generating required logs and statistical data sheets as required.

Experience/Education
  • High School graduate or above.
  • Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program or documented classroom training meeting SNT-TC1A and NAS-410 requirements.
  • Prior certification as an NDT Level 2 with a minimum of (2) year’s experience or documented on-the job training in applicable method(s).
  • 2+ years in an Aerospace manufacturing or service-related environment.
Licenses, Certificates & Other Requirements
  • Ability to pass Jaeger J1, Snellen 20/25, and color perception vision tests in accordance with NAS 410.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Fluent English – reading and writing is required
  • Pass pre-hire background check including MVR screening
  • Pass Pre-hire Drug Screening
  • Reliable transportation - must have current/active drivers' license and auto insurance
Working Conditions

Productivity:
Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.

Mobility:
Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Vision:
Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.

Environment:
Typical manufacturing plant conditions, directly working Quality management team, working with the ADR team, and external customers.

Other Factors:
