Position Summary
The CMM Programmer reports to the Director of Quality Operations and is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of a coordinate measurement machine to ensure that aerospace parts meet quality standards and specifications.
Essential Functions- Set up and run existing programs, perform alignment, daily calibration and understand basic program commands and datum structure.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
- Review inspection records received for compliance.
- Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
- Prepare and coordinate Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- CMM programming skills in PCDMIS, CALYPSO or other programming languages.
- FAI’s – AS9102.
- Hand measurement tools and other inspection devices such as 3D scanners, FARO arms, etc.
- Dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components.
- CMM inspection process, GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation.
- Quality Management Systems and performance metrics.
- Some knowledge of CATIA and CAD desired.
- Fluent English – reading and writing required.
- Professionalism, integrity and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong independent decision‑making, excellent analytical skills and professional judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office – 2010 Excel basic skills required.
- Effective communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to meeting the evolving needs of a high‑growth and fast‑paced organization.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Pass pre‑hire background check including drug and MVR screening.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experienced in dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components.
- Aerospace/Manufacturing experience – 5 to 10 years.
- PCDMIS experience required.
- US citizenship required.
- Fluent English – reading and writing required.
- Pass pre‑hire background check including MVR screening.
- Pass pre‑hire drug screening.
- Reliable transportation – must have current/active driver’s license and auto insurance.
Incumbents must perform work efficiently, effectively and timely with minimal direction. Physical activities may include light lifting, prolonged sitting, standing and walking. Vision sufficient to read printed documents and monitor behavior. Typical manufacturing plant conditions, Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional extended hours and weekend overtime may be required.
