Quality Manager – Automotive (Tier 2 Manufacturing)

Plant Manager

Role Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and leading the Quality Management System for a Tier 2 automotive manufacturing plant. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a startup plant environment, accountable for customer‑facing quality performance, supplier quality management, inspection operations, and audit compliance.

The role serves as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and audits, while also owning supplier quality, internal quality processes, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with IATF 16949.
  • Lead internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
  • Serve as primary customer contact for quality issues and audits.
  • Lead APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness activities.
  • Own supplier quality management, including audits and corrective actions.
  • Own incoming, in‑process, and final inspection activities.
  • Manage in‑house quality lab and testing operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Define and track quality KPIs.
  • Build and lead the plant quality team.
  • Travel to suppliers, customers, and corporate locations as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Hands‑on startup or launch experience.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
Mandatory Experience & Knowledge
  • IATF 16949 implementation and audit leadership.
  • Inspection and testing operations.
  • Structured problem‑solving leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in globally connected manufacturing organizations.
