We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.
The Quality Control (QC) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and manufacturing processes through inspection, testing, defect analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role collaborates closely with Production, Product Development, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams to maintain compliance with quality standards, resolve manufacturing issues, and drive operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Inspection & Testing
- Perform inspections and testing of PCBAs and related products to verify compliance with quality requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to established quality control procedures and workmanship standards.
- Review and evaluate inspection results, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Identify, document, and investigate product and process defects.
- Lead or support root cause analysis activities using quality tools and methodologies.
- Verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution of quality concerns.
- Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and manufacturing performance.
- Develop, maintain, and update Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) documents to identify risks and establish appropriate control measures.
- Recommend and implement process improvements based on quality data, inspection results, and customer feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing activities, nonconformances, corrective actions, and quality metrics.
- Update and manage quality control inspection checklists to reflect product modifications, process changes, and customer requirements.
- Track, review, and approve inspection system feedback while ensuring documentation remains audit-ready and compliant with company standards.
- Prepare quality reports and performance metrics for management review.
- Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards, inspection procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with Product Development (PD), Industrial Engineering (IE), Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), Production, and Quality Assurance teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Support a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous learning throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of basic quality tools and methodologies, including Pareto Charts, Histograms, Check Sheets, Cause-and-Effect Diagrams, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Familiarity with electronics manufacturing environments and PCBA production processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality systems, inspection techniques, and defect classification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with PFMEA, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of IPC standards and electronic assembly inspection procedures.
- Experience using quality management systems (QMS) and inspection tracking software.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen principles.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to inspect electronic assemblies and identify workmanship defects.
- Ability to work within a manufacturing environment and occasionally stand or walk for extended periods.
