IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and power in renewable-rich regions across North America, Europe and APAC.
With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
IREN is seeking a Director, Supplier Performance & Quality to build and lead the function responsible for the performance, quality, and accountability of the supplier and contractor ecosystem supporting our US data center build programs. This role owns the end-to-end supplier scorecard, quality assurance, and non-conformance/corrective action framework across general contractors, EPC firms, OEMs, and critical-path equipment suppliers – including LLE equipment, HV transformers, switch gear, liquid cooling systems, and modular/skid-based infrastructure.
The Director partners closely with Procurement, Construction, Engineering, and Commissioning leadership to ensure suppliers deliver to cost, schedule, and quality commitments across active and pipeline projects, including sites such as Childress and Sweetwater.
- Design, implement, and own a supplier performance management program (scorecards, KPIs, SLAs) spanning GC/EPC, OEM, modular/skid, and specialty trade suppliers on US data center builds.
- Establish quarterly and project-milestone quality and performance reviews with top-tier suppliers and contractors, driving accountability for cost, schedule, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Lead root-cause and corrective action processes for underperforming suppliers, including escalation pathways, performance improvement plans, and exit/replacement decisions.
- Build a supplier segmentation and risk model that flags capacity, financial, and single-source exposure across the critical equipment and construction supply base.
- Partner with Sourcing and Category Management to feed performance data into supplier selection, contract renewals, and award decisions.
- Own the supplier and construction quality assurance program, including inspection protocols, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning (Cx) quality gates.
- Establish and maintain a non-conformance reporting (NCR) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) system across GC/EPC and OEM scopes.
- Define quality standards and acceptance criteria for long-lead and critical equipment – HV transformers, switch gear, generators, liquid cooling (CDUs, manifolds), and modular power/mechanical skids.
- Audit contractor and OEM quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent) and drive closure of audit findings prior to and during construction.
- Ensure alignment of supplier and construction quality practices with relevant codes, NVIDIA DSX / hyperscale design compliance requirements, and IREN engineering specifications.
- Serve as the primary escalation point between Procurement and Construction/Engineering teams on supplier delivery, quality, and schedule risk.
- Collaborate with Project Controls to integrate supplier performance data into overall project cost and schedule reporting.
- Represent supplier performance and quality in GC/EPC contract negotiations, GMP/lump-sum/CMAR/Design-Build structuring, and claims or dispute resolution.
- Build out and lead a team of supplier quality and performance managers as the function scales across the US project portfolio.
- Report supplier performance and quality metrics to executive leadership and the Global Procurement organization.
- 12+ years in supplier quality, supplier performance management, construction quality…
