EHS& Ergonomics Specialist Overview
US Conec is seeking a detail-oriented EHS & Ergonomics Specialist to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you’ll support and implement environmental, health, safety, and ergonomics programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe, healthy, and productive workplace. This role focuses on hazard identification, injury prevention, ergonomic assessments, and continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
Responsibilities- Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS):
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near-misses; identify root causes and corrective actions
- Maintain EHS records, reports, and documentation
- Assist in maintaining emergency preparedness and response programs
- Provide safety and ergonomic guidance in support of new equipment, process changes, and facility layouts during design and implementation to ensure risk reduction
- Coordinate safety training programs for employees and management
- Assist with injury management, return to work and accommodation programs
- Support industrial hygiene activities such as noise monitoring, air quality assessment and exposure evaluations.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations, tasks, and job processes
- Recommend and implement ergonomic improvements to reduce injury risk (e.g., MSDs)
- Track and analyze injury trends related to ergonomics
- Support early intervention efforts to reduce severity and recurrence of injuries.
- Provide training and guidance on proper body mechanics and workstation setup
- Conduct safety and ergonomics training for employees, new hires, and leadership
- Promote safety awareness and best practices across all shifts
- Partner with supervisors to reinforce safe behaviors on the floor
- Lead and support safety committees and employee engagement initiatives
- Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and awareness initiatives
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare reports for leadership with actionable insights
- Support sustainability and environmental initiatives, including compliance and waste reduction as needed
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Facilities and HR teams to integrate EHS and ergonomic considerations into daily workflows and long-term planning
- Collaborate with operations, HR, and engineering to design safer work environments
- Collaborate with leadership to align EHS goals with business objectives and performance metrics
- Engage employees and supervisors to gather feedback, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams, safety committees, and project meetings to ensure proactive risk mitigation
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure consistent communication and adherence to safety and ergonomic standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in safety, ergonomics, or manufacturing environment
