Job Overview
This position has several key functions; product releasing, maintaining and updating our food safety & quality systems, maintaining and updating ingredient risk assessments, the backup for development and creation of all labels as well as the internal support as needed for labeling questions and concerns and being the first point of contact for customer complaint follow up.
ResponsibilitiesHold and Release Program-Responsible for ensuring all non-conforming products are placed on hold until disposition has been determined. Releasing of items on "pending pre-shipment" hold once the appropriate documentation, spec compliance, and micro results have been verified as accurate and in specification and pre-shipment review is completed. Revise and present data in weekly hold/rework meeting.
GFSI Compliance-Update and maintain GFSI compliance documents/records to facilitate the annual review process.
Label Development and Creation-Maintain training and understanding of label requirements to perform functions when primary employee is not available.
Food Safety Program and Systems-HAACP (or PC for FDA Plants) plan development, maintenance and reassessment is primary directive of this role. This includes all documents and records associated with the plan. Enable training of employees as required.
Customer complaint follow-up-Communicate as needed with customers for additional information for complaint investigation process.
Any other duties as assigned.
QualificationsExcellent customer service skills
Strong communication/training skills.
HACCP and PCQI certified preferred
Understanding of GFSI standard preferred
Knowledge of necessary administrative duties to maintain and organize records, reports, or other information
Computer literate in Office programs
Self-Starter, able to work independently
Ability to multi-task
Problem solving skills
Time management skills
Skilled in presenting information or ideas concisely, accurately, and clearly verbally and in writing.
Skilled in analyzing and documenting simple and complex business processes.
Skilled in communication with a focus on listening and influencing skills.
Ability to exercises appropriate judgment in decision-making and problem solving; seeks help promptly as necessary.
