Role Overview

The QA/QC Project Coordinator plans, governs, and monitors quality process across one or more commercial mechanical projects. This role develops project quality plans, governs documentation, and compliance standards, audits field execution, coordinates inspection, testing, commissioning, and turnover readiness, tracking performance trends, and training and coaching project and QA/QC personnel.

The QA/QC Project Coordinator provides technical quality guidance and influences field execution without directing installation work. This position reports to the Manager - QA/QC & CX.

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans, checklists, forms, documentation standards, and turnover requirements.
  • Review contract requirements, drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturer instructions, codes, commissioning plans, and customer standards to identify risks and set acceptance criteria.
  • Schedule and oversee inspections, testing, and milestone walks, including participants, access, follow-up, and closure.
  • Govern QA/QC documentation across assigned projects: collect, review, organize, and track records for installation inspections, pressure tests, flushing, cleaning, start-up, TAB, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Conduct project quality audits and report findings, trends, risks, nonconformances, and corrective actions to leadership and project teams.
  • Maintain deficiency logs (descriptions, photos, owners, priorities, due dates, closure evidence, status); verify closure and flag recurring issues.
  • Prepare dashboards and metrics for open items, aging, recurring issues, milestone readiness, and quality performance; lead root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement actions.
  • Train project teams on QA/QC protocols, code and commissioning expectations, and documentation standards; maintain templates, procedures, lessons learned, and training materials.
  • Coach QA/QC Project Specialists and Apprentices, facilitate QA meetings, and support their technical development and promotion readiness through the company's internal Quality Academy; complete applicable role-based training, field demonstrations, and qualification requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, BIM, start-up, controls, vendors, TAB, commissioning agents, inspectors, general contractors, owners, and designers.
  • Verify that forms, drawings, submittals, test records, equipment data, training, warranties, and turnover documentation are complete and accurate before turnover.

Required Background
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States as sponsorship is not available
  • Minimum of5 years in commercial mechanical or plumbing construction, QA/QC, commissioning, document control, start-up, project coordination, or closely related work.
  • Minimum of3 years with QA/QC systems, documentation governance, audits, compliance, deficiency management, or project quality planning.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, controls, construction documents, applicable codes, inspections, testing, deficiencies, and turnover processes.
  • Proven ability to develop QA plans, conduct audits, analyze metrics and trends, lead quality meetings or training, and influence field teams without direct installation authority.
  • Strong organization, documentation, follow-up, communication, facilitation, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PDF tools, mobile devices, and project-management, quality, commissioning, document-control, and reporting systems.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to visit active jobsites and comply with safety requirements.
  • Commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, controls, TAB, commissioning, and multi-project quality-governance experience. (Preferred)
