Job Title: Postdoc Opening to Study Metabolic Signaling
Job Number: 115589
Location: Dallas, US
Job DescriptionThe Xin Cai Lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX (Please click the Apply button for the link or email or Please click the Apply button for the link or email) is recruiting postdoc candidates with an interest in signal transduction, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry.
Research FocusOur question: how do metabolites act as signaling molecules to allosterically regulate proteins?
Metabolites accumulate during diseases such as cancer, infection, and inflammation. Metabolites are classically viewed as energy sources, yet their high intracellular concentration enables direct binding and allosteric modulation of protein functions – a signaling function that remains largely unexplored. Using questions guided by human patient data, we conduct hypothesis-driven research through a combination of in vitro, cell-based, and ultimately in vivo models.
We collaborate with biochemists and structural biologists to develop new methods to study protein-metabolite interactions.
Candidates must have
passion for scientific discovery, strong work ethic, and interest in signal transduction, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry. Please email the details below:
