Job Description *
* Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and its research and development line-of-business, The Skunk Works, seeks a motivated and experienced candidate to join the Low Observables team (Signature Management & Survivability).  Specifically, we seek to identify a candidate with expertise in the following disciplines:

- Processing of measured and simulated EO/IR data

- Aircraft stealth signature reduction and low observables (LO) phenomenology

- Infrared (IR) susceptibility

- Electromagnetics (EM), computational electromagnetics (CEM)

- Electromagnetics (EM), computational electromagnetics (CEM), IR metamaterial design, solid-state physics, photonics, and/or optics

- LO project/program management

- development of advanced IR materials and sensor

A Security Clearance will be required for those that apply and the candidate must ultimately qualify for a Top Secret clearance.  Candidate must be a US Citizen as this position is located at a facility that requires special access.

The candidate will be working in a high-paced environment responsible for infrared susceptibility and low observable technology maturation lifecycle from initial concept, internal research and development (IRAD) project execution, modeling and simulation, prototype build and test, external customer communication and marketing, proposal and contract capture, contract research and development (CRAD) leadership, and transition to production fleet.  The candidate will work independently and in small teams and participate in Government forums and internal Skunk Works program reviews as an LO signature advisor and IR materials subject matter expert.

Performs scientific experiments, investigations, observations and related research studies into the nature and operation of natural phenomena in a particular field, using the scientific methods. Develops theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for the benefit of project advancement and emerging technologies. May participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.

** Basic Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering,Physics, Optics, Photonics

+ Experience in IR, optics, photonics, CEM, RF, or electromagnetics

+ U.S. Citizenship Required

+ Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher

+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

** Desired Skills*
* + Master's degree or above in one of the following fields:
Engineering, Physics, Materials, Optics, or Photonics

+ Previous experience in low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility

+ Experience in infrared (IR) signature, Infrared Search and Track (IRST), IR cameras/sensors, radar cross section (RCS), or radio-frequency (RF) antenna design

+ Experience leading IRAD/CRAD projects and managing multi‑disciplinary teams

+ Expertise in LO modeling and predictions:
Computational electromagnetics (CEM), Hybrid Finite Element, Boundary Integral method (FE-BI), Method of Moments (MoM),  HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, FDTD, EO/IR

+

Experience with LO integration / multi-discipline air vehicle systems design

+ Knowledge of RADAR, RF materials, RF material measurements

+ Cultivation, pursuit, capture, project or program management, and execution of signature technology IRAD & CRAD projects

+ Programming with C/C++, Java, Fortran, Matlab, Python

+ CAD software literacy for model cleanup and meshing

* Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00
