Purpose

The Dishwasher’s responsibility is to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout their assigned area of responsibility.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain highest level possible of cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the area of responsibility, meeting or exceeding Federal, State, and Local standards.
  • Set up, operate, and clean all kitchen machinery/equipment properly and safely, and store it appropriately.
  • Clean and sanitize food service, preparation ware, dishroom, potroom and kitchen areas.
  • Scrape/spray all ware before placing it in the ware‑washing machine.
  • Rack all china and glassware according to dishroom standards.
  • Ensure all ware is clean and sanitary before removing from dishroom areas.
  • Take out trash as needed.
  • Sweep all debris from the floor, maintaining the floor dry and free of spills.
  • Practice proper food‑handling procedures.
  • Separate all ware and store it properly in designated areas.
  • Maintain equipment quality through preventive maintenance and cleaning.
  • Pay attention to detail on grease, grime, storage, stacking heights, chemical usage and storage, etc.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of miscellaneous equipment such as boxes, food and beverage products.
  • Maintain the workstation in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Move furniture as directed by management.
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor laws.
  • Ensure company safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Ensure complete and proper check‑out procedures.
  • Clean all spills immediately and place all trash in proper receptacles.
  • Inform management of any complaints, comments or incidents.
  • Ensure nightly/weekly and opening/run/closing duties are completed.
  • Record and report any equipment failure or safety hazards to management immediately.
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Over 18 years of age.
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain all state-required work cards.
  • Proper lifting techniques.
  • Guest relations experience.
  • Sanitation and safety knowledge.
  • Full‑service kitchen operations experience.
  • Effective and assertive English communication, both verbal and written, with staff and clients.
Working Conditions
  • Work indoors and/or outdoors, exposed to hot and/or cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
  • Work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, depending on guest volume.
  • Fast‑paced, high‑volume, full‑service restaurant.
  • Work varied shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Walk long periods of time.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Repeat the same movements for long periods of time.
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
