We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in meal preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced environment. The Line Cook will assist in the preparation of ingredients, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support the overall culinary operations.
Duties
- Prepare and chop ingredients for meals according to recipes and menu planning.
- Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, soups, and other components as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
- Organize and store food items in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation for catering events or restaurant service.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Participate in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on seasonal ingredients.
- Previous experience in a dietary department, restaurant, or culinary setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- Experience with meal preparation, catering, or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in the kitchen.
