Cash Control Clerk

Fort Worth Zoo is named one of the "World’s Greatest" for the care of 7,000 animals and conservation around the world.

Must be 18 years old or older to apply.

Starting Pay Rate $15.50.

Zoo perks include free admission to the Zoo, eight complimentary tickets per year to give to friends and family and discounts on food, merchandise, attractions, admission, and programs.

Responsible for the daily distribution, acceptance and reconciliation of till bags; processing deposits and disbursement of monies through accurate money tracking, security and balancing; compiling daily statistical reports and maintaining appearance of facility while providing exceptional and courteous guest service.

• Following Cash Control policies and procedures
• Operating equipment including coin roller, coin counter and currency counter
• Processing tills in and out of control room
• Verifying and calculating safe balances
• Proficient in opening procedures: opening building, verifying safe, preparing deposit and distribution of till bags
• Proficient in closing procedures: accepting till bags, refilling tills, batching, processing tills, paying back safe and securing building
• Processing petty cash requests
• Monitors and maintains correspondence of department email
• Performs vending procedures including preparing, processing and depositing
• Accurately reports all relevant cashier information to loss prevention
• Understands and reports information on the Sales Report accurately
• Assist in training of new employees
• Maintains internal controls and reports discrepancies
• Maintaining cleanliness and appearance of facilities

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be available to work 5 days a week
• Accurate and precise cash handling and calculating abilities
• Strong mathematical skills; able to use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Understands and demonstrates the importance of attention to details and internal controls
• Previous experience using Microsoft Word and Excel preferred

Work experience in a bank, loss prevention and/or cash vault setting preferred.

• Able to regularly lift/move up to ten pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds
• Able to regularly use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, stoop or kneel
• Able to stand or walk for an extended period of time

• Able to work independently or within a team
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment
• Able to work holidays and weekends
• Outdoors in heat, cold and inclement weather
