Retail Store Inventory Auditor

Ashley, the #1 Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, has an immediate opening for a Store Inventory Loss Prevention Auditor. The ideal candidate is responsible for providing the Regional Supervisor of Inventory support related to the management and control over corporate inventory assets through the completion of timely reports and documentation that assist in the disposition and categorization required to maintain the safety and integrity of those assets.

Salary: $43,000 to $45,000 yearly

• Conduct audits and full counts of assigned facilities on a semi‑annual schedule.
• Assist in the relocation of market stores and/or new acquisitions.
• Work with location managers on resolving inventory discrepancies and ensuring best practices of inventory management.
• Work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including accounting, marketing, purchasing, and showroom staff.
• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly reports related to inventory status by location.
• Review, consolidate, and submit audit results to the supervisor at the end of each audit.
• Provide monthly showroom shrink/costs to the supervisor as required.
• Assist the department in improving processes and procedures to reduce inventory shrink and maximize working capital.
• Investigate and resolve inventory issues at assigned locations in a timely manner.
• Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and processes.
• Travel to all locations conducting inventory counts and performing inventory audits.
• Identify failures to execute proper inventory management and report to appropriate managers.
• Maintain the integrity of inventory adjustments through the store operating system.
• Supply inventory audit reports after each location audit; review results with location management and identify shrink opportunities.
• Provide root‑cause analysis; managers must report corrective action plans for all issues.
• Obtain approval of corrective action plans before reporting to the director.
• Report any security risks from assigned locations through the audit report.
• Complete full reconciliation on all inventory shrink in assigned locations.
• Lead location managers in maintaining inventory integrity by highlighting process breakdowns.
• Ensure all locations are prepared for their audit through pre‑inventory checklists and scheduled calls.

• High School Diploma.
• 1–2 years’ experience working in inventory or a related area.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to effectively administer assigned programs.
• Interpret and apply established policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and execute work programs.
• Analyze information and draw valid conclusions.
• Prepare studies and reports on complex matters; write proposals.
• Set priorities, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions.
• Communicate effectively.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
• Travel is required twice a month.
