The Store Manager assists the owners in operating a profitable, customer-focused store that consistently delivers exceptional service exceeding customer expectations. This role is responsible for all aspects of managing a single store—including hiring, training, scheduling, developing, and leading a high-performing team. The Store Manager oversees day-to-day operations to achieve sales, profit, and customer retention goals while maintaining brand standards, inventory quality, and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on, lead-by-example position requiring strong leadership, adaptability, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes hectic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leadership & Development- Recruit, hire, and schedule team members to ensure strong coverage while maintaining labor cost goals.
- Coach, train, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding service and meet performance expectations.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review goals, product knowledge, and training updates.
- Build a positive, collaborative team culture centered on accountability, energy, and results.
- Drive sales results by developing and executing strategies that increase traffic, customer buys, and repeat visits.
- Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and balance COGS in line with company targets.
- Manage controllable expenses including labor, supplies, and loss prevention.
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain an inviting, organized, and visually appealing store environment that exceeds brand and customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with Uptown Cheapskate brand standards, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate integrity and sound judgment in all management decisions.
- Lead by example on the sales floor—greeting customers, assisting with buying/selling transactions, and modeling top-tier service.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and with a solutions-first mindset.
- Set the tone for a positive, high-energy, service-driven atmosphere.
- Minimum 2–3 years of retail management or equivalent leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of resale fashion and current trends appealing to Uptown’s core customer.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and ability to interpret and act on business reporting.
- Flexible availability required — weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are mandatory.
- Must be responsive and capable of handling a dynamic, fast-paced workload with shifting priorities.
