Parts Front Counter Sales Summary

The Parts Salesperson performs a variety of customer service, in store, marketing, promoting, and stocking duties related to the receiving, sale and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealership's parts department. Ongoing responsibility for assisting with the counter parts sales and client facing customer service responsibilities.

• Maintain proper training for parts position.
• Receive and fill telephone orders.
• Fill customer orders from stock.
• Bill sales slips properly.
• Receive proper payment.
• Examine return parts for defects and process.
• Keep working area clean and organized.
• Assist in annual inventories.
• Friendly phone manners
• Place new merchandise on display.
• Maintain a good working relationship with outside vendors.
• Turn in daily paperwork.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork and camaraderie.
• Maintain lost sales records.

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years clear driving record
  - No previous DUI history or moving violations
• No prior criminal history
• Automotive parts sales experience required
• High level of dependability and organization

• Successful selling skills
• Knowledge of dealerships parts inventory
• Good relationship building skills
• Ethical Conduct
• Excellent communications skills
• Ability to discuss technical details

This position is non-exempt and has no supervisory responsibility.

Parts Salespersons will usually work 50-60 hours per week on a rotation between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. including weekends and holidays. Most time is spent in the warehouse or parts counter but also includes working outside on the lot in all weather conditions. Competition against peers and other dealerships is a common practice as well as expectation to meet aggressive sales goals assigned by the dealer.

May sit, walk or stand for long periods of time in all weather and temperature conditions. Repetitive use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, reaching, grasping, hearing, seeing and talking. Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs.

This position requires minimal extended travel beyond test drive and delivery areas.

Valid driver's license is required, and all applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
