Responsibilities / Position overview

We're seeking a strategic, commercially focused leader to drive the growth and evolution of our global Value, Access & Outcomes (VAO) practice. This highly visible leadership role will define and execute commercial strategy across our Market Access, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Patient-Centered Outcomes (PCO), and Real-World Evidence (RWE) service lines.

Working closely with practice leadership, you'll strengthen commercial performance, enhance business development capabilities, and create scalable strategies that support long-term growth across a global consulting organization

As Commercial Strategy Lead, you'll serve as a strategic partner to business leaders while driving commercial excellence across the VAO practice globally. You will:

  • Develop and execute commercial growth strategies that expand market presence, strengthen competitive positioning, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Partner with practice leadership to refine service offerings, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies across multiple consulting businesses.
  • Lead initiatives that improve commercial operations, sales effectiveness, and business development processes while creating greater consistency across service lines.
  • Design and implement scalable sales enablement programs, including tools, frameworks, KPIs, reporting, and best practices that improve commercial performance.
  • Oversee account planning, pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity prioritization to maximize growth across strategic clients.
  • Partner with senior business development leaders and consulting teams to strengthen client relationships, improve proposal quality, and increase win rates.
  • Use market intelligence, commercial analytics, and performance data to identify trends, evaluate business performance, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to align commercial priorities with demand generation, thought leadership, and client engagement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business development team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

We're looking for a strategic commercial leader who combines strong business acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organizational growth.

We're looking for someone with:

  • 15+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business development, sales leadership, revenue operations, or a related commercial function within life sciences consulting, healthcare, or professional services.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing commercial growth strategies across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience leading sales enablement, commercial operations, account management, or revenue optimization initiatives that deliver measurable business results.
  • Deep understanding of business development, pipeline management, CRM platforms, forecasting, and commercial performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership across multiple functions and global teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing commercial or business development teams.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive influencing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Competitive salary plus bonus scheme
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
