2. POSITION PURPOSEThe General Manager West Region will have end-to-end responsibility for developing and growing Sudarsshan's business across Western India.
The incumbent will be responsible for regional revenue, volume, contribution, customer acquisition, key accounts, channel development, market expansion and sales-team leadership
.
This is a business leadership role
, requiring a combination of strong commercial capability, technical understanding of polymers/plastics, customer relationship management and the ability to build sustainable regional growth.
The GM will work closely with R&D, Technical, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and senior management to convert market opportunities into profitable business.
3.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES A. Regional Business Leadership
- Develop and execute the annual business plan for the West Region.
- Own regional sales, volume and contribution targets.
- Identify priority industries, customers, territories and applications for growth.
- Develop strategies for increasing business with existing customers.
- Identify new applications and opportunities for compounds and master batches.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, pricing and customer requirements.
- Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Build a strong pipeline covering new customers, new applications and existing-account growth.
- Acquire new customers across automotive, appliances, electrical, agriculture, packaging, engineering plastics, construction and other relevant segments.
- Develop business with plastic processors, moulders, extruders, converters, OEMs and other industrial customers.
- Drive conversion of competitor business wherever technically and commercially feasible.
- Ensure systematic follow-up of enquiries, samples, trials, approvals, quotations and commercial closures.
- Personally manage strategic and high-value customers.
- Build relationships with Purchase, Technical, R&D, Quality, Production and senior management.
- Develop annual business plans for key accounts.
- Identify opportunities for increasing product penetration and share of business.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer issues in coordination with internal functions.
- Understand polymer-processing applications and customer processing conditions.
- Coordinate customer trials, approvals and technical feedback.
- Promote customized compound and masterbatch solutions.
- Translate customer requirements into commercially viable material solutions.
- Develop and manage an effective distributor/channel network wherever appropriate.
- Identify and appoint suitable channel partners.
- Define territory, customer and product strategies for distributors.
- Monitor channel sales, inventory, receivables and market coverage.
- Maintain market discipline and minimize channel conflicts.
- Own regional business contribution and commercial performance.
- Participate in pricing and commercial negotiations with key customers.
- Monitor customer-wise/product-wise profitability.
- Ensure adherence to approved pricing and credit policies.
- Drive disciplined receivables and collection performance.
