Research Assistant III Position Summary
Pharmacology and Neuroscience Department plays a crucial role in advancing our understanding of drug actions and the nervous system. It integrates basic science with clinical applications, aiming to improve human health through innovative research and education.
Position OverviewThe research assistant will help coordinate scheduling of subjects’ visits to the lab and communicate with the faculty at the Department of Internal Medicine, set up the lab for testing, and assist the PI for neurovascular assessments, conduct the IHT/sham intervention train for the study participants/subjects.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.
Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students.
- Knowledge of academic writing skills.
BS or BA degree
Job Duties- Recruit study subjects.
- Provide the informed consent to volunteer subjects.
- Schedule the lab visit for the enrolled subjects.
- Coordinate the medical/neurocognitive screening with the clinical faculty in the Internal Medicine.
- Train the enrolled subjects with IHT or sham interventions.
- Help the PI to carry out the testing and to measure neurophysiological function pre and post interventions.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
