Security Officer
Work location:
Texas Health Southwest 6100 Harris Parkway, TX 76132.
Work hours:
Full-Time, Evening shifts.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or a closely related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of healthcare or education experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, Class C, and insurable.
- CSO – Commissioned Security Officer, Texas Private Security Level 2 preferred.
- CSO – Commissioned Security Officer, Texas level 3 within 60 days of hire required.
- Taser certification within 60 days of hire required (two attempts permitted within sixty days); annual recertification required.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training upon hire required.
- Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention (ACPI) training within 6 months of hire required.
- CPI training within 30 days of hire required.
- ACPI training within 12 months of hire required.
- Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation.
- Patrol buildings and grounds for unlocked secured areas for after‑hour entry.
- Lock and open doors according to schedules.
- Provide individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.
- Identify and remove unauthorized individuals from the property.
- Enforce campus parking policies and issue citations.
- Pursue and detain persons involved in criminal activity.
- Fill out incident/offense report forms and compose narratives.
- Give directions to areas of the facility.
- Interact with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.
- Patrol interior and perimeter of campus and parking.
