HVAC Service Technician – Commercial & Industrial
Dallas–Fort Worth, TX
$28–$45/hr | Full-Time | Overtime Available
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with expertise in commercial and industrial HVAC systems, who can independently troubleshoot, repair, and optimize large rooftop units, air-cooled chillers, and advanced control systems. This position offers steady work, competitive pay, and opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities System Diagnostics & Knowledge- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (10–20 tons), air-cooled chillers, VRF/VRV systems, cooling towers, and pumps
- Troubleshoot compressors, gas heat exchangers, TXVs, economizers, and VFDs
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, manometers, and refrigerant analyzers
- Optimize systems for efficiency, including superheat, subcooling, and refrigerant charge
- Independently perform service calls, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Conduct leak detection, refrigerant recovery, and recharging per EPA 608 standards
- Ensure HVAC systems operate safely and efficiently
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to customers
- Document service work, repairs, and recommendations for future maintenance
- Recommend system upgrades or service agreements when appropriate
- Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ASHRAE standards
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC service
- EPA 608 Certification required
- Strong troubleshooting skills with experience using diagnostic tools
- Familiarity with large rooftop units, air-cooled chillers, VFDs, and cooling towers
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused
- Monday–Friday
- 8- or 12-hour shifts
- Weekends as needed
- Dallas–Fort Worth, TX
- In-person work
- Must be able to commute or relocate prior to start
