Job Summary: This position is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of a building's structure, systems, and equipment. This includes performing a wide range of tasks, from routine repairs to preventative maintenance and responding to emergency situations. They ensure the building and its systems function safely, efficiently, and optimally.
You are hard-working, a team player, and dedicated to performing quality work in all that you do. Significant past experience as a professional maintenance worker is highly preferred and a positive attitude is a must!
Responsibilities:
- Complete tasks on “to do” list as requested.
- Scan lights, bulbs and ballasts for outages and replace as needed.
- Search and remove any bugs or debris from light fixtures.
- Examine and replace any ceiling tiles showing signs of moisture or damage.
- Inspect door handles to ensure closures are working properly.
- Survey walls for any spots in need of patch and paint repair.
- Examine toilet seats to ensure they are securely tightened and flushing and filling properly.
- Visually inspect flooring for any spots that may need attention or replacement.
- Verify that cabinet doors and drawers are working properly.
- Check faucets and aerators for proper function.
- Inspect the sinks to ensure they are draining properly.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
- Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner
Qualifications :
- Previous experience as a handyman / general maintenance
- Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA)
- Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Must be qualified to perform at heights above thirty (30) feet with the use of a ladder, lift
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs on a consistent basis
