Maintenance Manager
Responsible for on-site leadership of maintenance and repair services for assigned district facilities. Assist director of operations to maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so it may be fully used at all times.
Education/Certification:
Clear and valid Texas driver's license
General knowledge of crafts used in building repair and maintenance
Ability to direct and supervise personnel
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Effective organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
5 years of experience in a craft field. Preferred
5 years of experience in general maintenance
2 years supervisory experience
Facilities Maintenance and RepairMonitor the work and issue work assignments to skilled maintenance workers, including carpenter, electrician; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician; painter; and plumber.
Tools/Equipment Used :
Small hand tools; power tools; light truck or van
Posture:
Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
Motion:
Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting:
Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment:
Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent district wide travel
