The CCTV Operator is responsible for the successful completion of CCTV processes. The incumbent operates CCTV, and other machines used in inspections.
Roles and Responsibilities- Load and prepare equipment for upcoming jobs.
- Set up and operate sewer cleaning equipment, including lifting, carrying and pulling hoses, climbing onto the unit for set up and minor maintenance, standing, kneeling or bending for long periods of time.
- Set up and operate various handheld and hand‑operated equipment including power tools, shovels, etc.
- Operate mobile television and chemical sealing units to conduct internal sewer line inspections and seal defects, thereby preventing water infiltration.
- Place traffic cones and barricades at job sites; remove manhole covers and examine manholes to determine proper set‑up procedure.
- Locate line sections to be inspected using map, determine set‑up procedures, set up winches, determine skid size, install proper skid, plug line if necessary, thread cable through sewer lines and place camera inside manhole to televise sewer line.
- Operate and adjust camera controls to obtain optimum clarity and contrast; prepare description of each sewer defect and record pertinent data.
- Determine supplies necessary for the daily operation of the TV truck and equipment; assist with mixing chemicals.
- Prepare packer, connect necessary cables to packer, operate sealing unit to release sealing compound.
- Remove camera, hoses and packing from line when inspection or sealing operations are completed.
- Clean and store camera, chemicals, and equipment on van truck after use.
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License within two weeks of employment.
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and a pre‑employment drug screen.
