Job Summary
We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, which include equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliners. This includes all general and complex repairs. Multiple shifts available.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and non-routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards
- Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair
- Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair
- Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair
- Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair
- Preventative maintenance repairs
- Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Maintaining a clean and neat shop
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Minimum: 1+ years of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
- Basic tool set for job functions
- Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals and written instruction
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
- Basic math calculations
- Preferred:
Cummins or Detroit certifications - Commercial Inspection Certification
- Engine diagnosis and repair
- Preventative maintenance
- Wheel seals, water pumps, A/C components, compressors
- Air and hydraulic braking systems, APU’s
- Basic math and tool utilization
- Truck repair, electronic diagnostics, mechanical repair
- Knowledge of Cummins X15 engine, Detroit DD15 engine
- Diesel repair, fleet mechanic/technician experience
- Maneuvering around, in, on, and under trucks/tight spaces to properly inspect and diagnose problems
- Standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body movements
- Using hands to handle, control or feel
- Climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
