Gas Locate Technician - Fort Worth TX

Job Description

The position is available to veterans, transitioning military personnel, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, wounded warriors, and their caregivers. Unless otherwise stated, the role is on‑site at the location detailed in the posting.

$20.00 per hour.

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
• Locate other utilities as required, in addition to gas lines.
• Work daytime, full‑time positions that may require overtime, weekend, on‑call, and overnight shifts.

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during business hours; some out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish color codes used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Computer proficiency.
• Able to read and understand locate tickets, maps, and prints; basic math skills to calculate distances.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners; customer service experience is a plus.
