Low Voltage, Access Control, CCTV Technician

ESST has been providing security services including cameras, access control, data, and alarm monitoring to Texas businesses for 21 years. Our headquarters is located in Justin, Texas with an additional office in Lubbock, Texas.

• Install Security, CCTV, and Access Control panels & systems
• Install various access control devices including card readers and electric door strikes
• Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings)
• Install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone and other cables
• Dress and route cable into closets and control rooms
• Fire stop various types of cable penetrations
• Travel to and from job locations. Some overnight travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as required

As a Technician, you must combine technical expertise in security systems with the ability to self‑manage and work effectively on an independent basis. You must be highly organized and detail‑oriented, with strong time management, prioritization, and project management skills. It is also important to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a firm commitment to responsive and professional customer service.

• Access Control: S2, Genea, ICT
• Cameras: Avigilon, Alta (formerly AVA), Panasonic (Video Insight, iPro)
• Intrusion: Bosch
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screening
• Experience with structured cabling installation for low‑voltage systems, including CAT5e/CAT6 terminations, cable routing, labeling, and testing
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing similar duties, including installation or servicing of security systems
• Expert troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency with computer hardware components and software applications
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers
• Maintain strict client confidentiality
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
• Punctual with a demonstrated strong attendance record
• Safe use of power tools
• Ability to climb ladders and operate lifts
• Physical demands include: capable of sitting and standing for long periods of time; freely bending, kneeling, crawling and stooping while working; work from high places such as roofs, ceilings, ladders and crawl spaces and other small areas; and safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
