Functionstobe Expectedin Overhead Powerline Construction :- Workssafelywhileperformingnewconstruction,maintenance,orrepairworkofenergizedand de-energizedoverheadwork
- Properlyinspectsrubbergoodsand Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Understandswhentowearpersonalprotectiveequipment
- Assistswithinstallingtransformers,lighteningarrestors,cutouts,cross-arms,insulators,switches andswitchgear
- Assistsinreplacingfusesintransformersandclearsfaultedcircuitsandsystems
- Frequentlyworkswithenergizedhighvoltagesystemsrequiringskillandcaretoprotectthelives ofthemselvesandothers
- Maintainscompanyvehicles,equipmentandtoolsingoodworkingorder
- Understandbasicrigging,handlines,andlinemanknottying
- Capableofreceivingandfollowingdirections
- Possessabasicknowledgeof materialsusedin linework
- Mustbe familiarwithinducedvoltage
- Capableofassistingwiththeinstallationandhookupofasingle-phase transformer
- Understandsthebasicconceptsofequipmentsetupandgrounding
- Capableofcheckingvoltageon transformers
- Mustbe abletoclimbdifferenttypesofstructures(wood,steel,etc.)andpossessthenecessary toolstodoso
- Understandshowandwhento use Kellumgrips
