Responsibilities- Supervise the Rainbow Room coordinator, the Tarrant County Community coordinator, and clerical staff.
- Oversee unit operations in accordance with the CPS Handbook, Title III of the Texas Family Code, and Minimum Standards of child placing agencies.
- Coordinate with the Tarrant County Child Welfare Board, Commissioners court, County partners, and community stakeholders.
- Prepare and coordinate the annual CPS budget for Tarrant County and monthly budget reports for the Child Welfare Board.
- Prepare quarterly reconciliation reports on reimbursable foster child expenses and special services.
- Coordinate monthly Child Welfare reports and prepare meeting reports.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with CPS staff, county staff, the Child Welfare board, service providers, and the general public, providing insights to policy and budget procedures.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing diverse stakeholder needs.
- Plan and manage unit operations to achieve project goals and objectives, including monthly conferences and annual performance evaluations.
- Approve staff travel, leave, and tie.
- Select, manage, and develop staff through field visits, performance data review, conferences, training, and performance appraisal.
- Interpret program policy and procedures for unit staff, other agency staff, and the Child Welfare Board.
- Manage the county budget and accounts.
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain unit operations.
- Promote and ensure respect for cultural diversity.
- Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
- Knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and use various software packages.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least eighteen months of full‑time experience in Child Protective Services or child placement services in a public social services agency, OR currently employed as a CPS Supervisor I in DFPS, OR previously employed as a CPS Supervisor I in DFPS.
- For CPS Supervisor II:
Completion of Phase I Child Protective Services Specialist Certification and completion of the CPS Supervisor Certification, OR currently employed as a CPS Supervisor II in DFPS, OR currently employed in a DFPS management position above Supervisor I, OR prior experience as a CPS Supervisor in DFPS, OR previously employed as a CPS Supervisor II.
