Assumes the primary caretaker role for psychiatric patients ages Pre‑K through adolescents which includes activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. The Program Specialist II also participates in crisis intervention, teaching, group process and is on call as needed.

• Provide day‑to‑day care and supervision for psychiatric patients ages Pre‑K through adolescents.
• Maintain a safe environment and manage harmful behaviors.
• Participate in crisis intervention and non‑violent crisis intervention training (CPI Units 1‑7 & 9‑10).
• Teach and facilitate group processes.
• Be on call as required.

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field.
• Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Child growth and development education required.
• CPR – BLS within 60 days of start date.
• CPI Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention – Units 1‑7 & 9‑10 plus the CPI Children’s Control Position from Unit 8 must be completed within 60 days of start date.
• Minimum requirements changed March 2022; prior employees grandfathered having at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college.
