Position

Purpose:

The Coordinator of Emergent Bilingual Family, Parent, and Community Engagement is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of family and community engagement systems that increase participation, advocacy, and support for Emergent Bilingual (EB) students and families across the district. This role ensures that families receive meaningful opportunities to engage in their children's education and access district services, resources, and information in a language they understand.

The Coordinator supports family engagement initiatives, parent education programs, community partnership, and advisory structures that strengthen family-school partnerships and promote student success. The role supports compliance with federal, state, and district requirements and expectations related to family engagement services for Emergent Bilingual students and families.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of family, parent, and community engagement initiatives for Emergent Bilingual students and families, ensuring alignment with all federal, state, and district requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinates systems and processes that increase family participation in bilingual education programs, services, and school-based activities, promoting understanding of program goals, requirements, and benefits.
  • Supports the establishment and facilitation of parent advisory structures and engagement opportunities that provide meaningful input regarding services and supports for Emergent Bilingual students and families.
  • Develops and delivers parent education programs designed to increase family knowledge of bilingual education services, language development, academic expectations, and graduation pathways.
  • Proactively leverages data-driven decision-making and initiative to monitor, improve, and accelerate outcomes for Emergent Bilingual students while fostering meaningful engagement with parents and guardians.
  • Collaborates with campuses to strengthen family engagement practices and ensure access to information, programs, and services for Emergent Bilingual students and families.
  • Supports district wide communication efforts through the development and dissemination of multilingual resources, informational materials, and outreach campaigns designed to increase awareness of available programs and services.
  • Supports family engagement and wraparound efforts for Emergent Bilingual students and families, including communication and outreach to promote understanding of program services and support student retention.
  • Supports and monitors the implementation fidelity of bilingual education program models, including Dual Language programs, ensuring consistency with district expectations across campuses.
  • Supports program monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of Emergent Bilingual programs in collaboration with Assessment, Analytics, Reporting, and Accountability, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with district expectations.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and availability, including extended or adjusted work hours during peak compliance periods, monitoring cycles, and critical deadlines, to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.

Safety:

Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
