OVERVIEWBrain Works is currently seeking a Software Developer for a full-time, onsite role in Fort Worth, TX. This position supports a rapidly growing manufacturing operation with proprietary, in-house developed production systems. The Software Developer will work directly with senior technical leadership to support, enhance, and integrate custom .NET applications that drive real-time manufacturing processes across the production floor.
This is a hands-on role in a highly integrated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about building tangible systems, comfortable working onsite in a factory setting, and excited about growing into a long-term technical leader within a fast‑scaling business. The first 6–12 months will focus heavily on development and system training, with long‑term opportunity to take ownership of the production technology platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Build and enhance .NET solutions supporting manufacturing workflows, including integration points across shop‑floor systems, production controls, and touchpoints
- Work extensively with Microsoft SQL Server (database design, integration, and troubleshooting)
- Deliver and support applications across multiple formats (web, desktop, and backend/service components) within the .NET ecosystem
- Support real‑time interactions between internal systems and manufacturing equipment (cutting tables, storage systems, labeling systems, shipping integrations, etc.)
- Troubleshoot production issues onsite, including machine‑level and integration diagnostics
- Interface directly with PLCs and manufacturing equipment integrations (experience preferred)
- Support system configurations, server management, and infrastructure tasks in a Windows environment
- Participate in documentation, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing to strengthen maintainability and development practices
- Assist with hardware/software sourcing, system setup, and licensing as needed
Collaborate closely with technical leadership to transition knowledge and assume long‑term system ownership - Help implement data capture + reporting capabilities for real‑time operational metrics and KPI‑style monitoring
- Contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing workflows and internal systems
- 5+ years of full‑stack software development experience across front‑end and back‑end applications
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience within the .NET ecosystem
, including strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core, - 5+ years of advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server
, including database design, querying, and performance optimization - Experience in integrating with web services (REST, XML, JSON, FTP‑based integrations)
- Hands‑on troubleshooting mindset; comfortable working on the production floor
- Experience in Windows server environments
- Willingness to work onsite full‑time (Monday–Friday)
- Strong problem‑solving and investigative skills
- Experience integrating with PLCs or production machinery
- Exposure to warehouse/production system integrations
- Networking fundamentals (switch configuration, infrastructure exposure)
- Experience working in lean IT teams or high‑growth companies
- Experience with electronic labeling systems or factory automation environments
- Background in custom manufacturing / ERP / Warehouse systems
In accordance with applicable federal, state, and local pay transparency and fair hiring laws, the target annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000
.
Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and work location.
This position may also be eligible for additional forms of compensation as well as a comprehensive benefits package provided by the hiring employer.
