We are Lockheed Martin The Multi-Domain Combat Systems (MDCX) Team responsible for Dynamic Targeting and Surveillance Systems within the Advanced Development Program is seeking C++ backend software engineers who will be able to contribute to the design, development, and ongoing support of a backend system composed of containerized microservices. These services are deployed and operated within Kubernetes environments and form the foundation of a larger distribution platform that is responsible for controlling unmanned air vehicles.

What You Will Be Doing As the Software Engineer, you will be responsible for all phases of developing backend software solutions for Command and Control Systems through MDCX.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining containerized microservices deployed in Kubernetes environments.
• Developing backend infrastructure that is reliable and maintainable for mission services to operate successfully in a complex distributed backend system.
• Developing code that finds the delicate balance between runtime behavior and workflow that relies on modern programming practices.
• Creating services within an open architecture system that will deploy to ground stations for controlling unmanned air vehicles.

• Produce new performance capabilities and software services for the air vehicle.

• Participating in integration activities that will include a multitude of host systems, such as live assets of varying capability and structure, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that include integrated simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations. Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college in a relevant field of study; or equivalent experience

• Experience with C++
Desired

Skills:

- Experience with Postgres

- Experience with the latest tech stacks (Protobuf, containerization, etc.)

- Experience with Podman/Docker, Helm, Ansible

- Experience with Bash and Shell scripting.
- Object-oriented programming skills. Primarily C++ and Java. Optionally Go and Python.
- Messaging familiarity with topics/queues and customizations using Kafka and Active

MQ Artemis
- Microservice architecture and development.
- Develop and implementation of unit and functional testing with Google or JUnit. Inclusive of mocking external components.
- Development using clean, hexagonal, and data-driven architectures in a modular environment.
- VCPkg Experience - Pipeline management
- Gitlab experience - CI/CD and Configuration management

- Experience with CMake and Gradle - Familiar with UML & SysML

- Experience with Cameo System Modeler 2024 or greater

- Experience with Atlassian products
