Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and its research and development line-of-business, The Skunk Works, seeks an motivated recent graduate candidate to join the Advanced Aircraft Low Observables Team (Signature Management & Survivability).
In this role you will gain hands on experience developing high performance software for signature applications, learning cutting edge techniques in GPU computing, physics based ray tracing, and computational electromagnetics. You will work side by side with senior engineers and researchers, contributing to projects that impact aircraft stealth and low observable (LO) technology. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Software Engineer (Low Observables).
Typical responsibilities may include:
-Assist in the design and architecture of object-oriented software under the guidance of senior engineers.
-Contribute code to object-oriented applications using C++/Python, following established design patterns.
-Participate in building and testing GPU-accelerated modules (CUDA or OpenCL) to improve simulation performance.
-Perform debugging and troubleshooting on existing tools, documenting findings and suggested fixes.
-Help keep software documentation up-to-date, including API references, user guides, and training materials.
-Collaborate with researchers and teammates to implement computational physics algorithms (e.g., ray-tracing, electromagnetics). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to self-teach new skills and techniques and the ability to collaborate with team members from differing backgrounds including physics, engineering, and software. Must be a US Citizen ; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical major - Experience and/or knowledge of programming with C/C++ - Experience and/or knowledge of a C++ IDE (Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc...) - Experience and/or knowledge of object oriented design/development - Must be a US Citizen ; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
