Associate Software Engineer

Job Description

Associate Software Engineer - Join Square Trade’s critical engineering team to develop key innovation features and onboard new merchants and partners.

• Work closely with the Team Lead to drive technical decision‑making and solutions for the team.
• Collaborate with engineering and peer teams to ensure systems interoperate effectively and provide robust solutions that meet business needs.
• Support the development of new features and maintain high‑quality code through peer and technical code reviews.
• Report to a Sr. Engineering Manager for your capability area.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of software development experience.
• Analytical SQL skills for data analysis in Postgres.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Dedication to high quality through thorough technical code reviews.

• Exposure to microservices architecture, domain‑driven design, and RESTful services using languages such as Java, Spring Boot; UI/UX using Angular.
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, multi‑discipline development team environment.
• Fair understanding of Scrum and Agile principles.

• Estimated base compensation: $70K – $120K for the Dallas, Texas location.
