Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program (ADP)) is looking for talented and energetic individuals to become part of a dynamic high-energy team carrying on the 70+ year tradition of developing and producing advanced aircraft and battlespace solutions.
This Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Software Engineer position is part of the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works Mission Systems and Software Communications team supporting an ADP program with staff distributed between Fort Worth, Texas and Palmdale, California. The selected candidate will use cutting‑edge principles, theories, concepts, standards and techniques for developing software and hardware solutions for complex modern aircraft and battle spaces.
The selected candidate will be a member of our GNC team, focusing on Navigation and Timing. The role requires the use of a wide range of Aeronautical Engineering and Electrical Engineering principles from aerodynamics, stability/control, guidance, multi‑sensor navigation, sensor fusion, estimation, system identification, and optimal filtering using EKF/UKFs to develop algorithms from fundamentals, generate software from models, integrate and test hardware/software solutions.
Expertise with Matlab/Simulink is required, and embedded software development skills are desired. Ability to understand impacts of design choices on airworthiness and mission/platform performance is essential. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, and a Master’s degree (or be working on one) in a relevant engineering discipline.
The successful candidate will be a member of a high‑performing multi‑site team and must be self‑motivated with a strong work ethic, time‑management, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated proactive communication skills, as the position requires inter‑organizational and outside‑customer interactions. The candidate must be willing to travel on occasion for team interaction, integration and test activities.

Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
